FAQ

Q:
How early can I show up to the recital and will there be time to practice my piece before the performance?

A: Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled group. Unfortunately we will not have time for students to practice their piece before their recital so be sure to get in as much practice as you can ahead of time!

Q: What is the dress code?

A: Please dress in nicer than normal, everyday wear. There will be a photographer and the space is nicely lit. We encourage students to take pride in their appearance at the recital as it is a memorable experience.

Q: Can I change my recital time or group?

A: We cannot accommodate any scheduling changes for the recital. If you cannot make it for any reason please email info@vesperschoolofmusic.com. Thanks for understanding.

Q: Can I take photos or videos?

A: Absolutely! Please feel free to capture non-flash photos or videos of students in your family.

Q: I’m nervous, can my teacher accompany me or is it ok for my parent to come up on stage with me?

A: Absolutely! Please ask your teacher if you’d like them to help you with your performance. We also suggest practicing your piece in front of a sample audience ahead of time.

Q: Do I need to announce my name and piece that I’m performing?

A: This is optional, but many students like to announce their name and piece before playing. Students’ names and pieces will be published in the recital program as well.

Q: Do I need to take a bow after playing my piece?

A: As a way to thank your audience, we ask students that take a bow when done playing.

Q: I’m not performing, but I’d like to come watch the recital. Is there anything I should know?

A: You are welcome to attend a recital you are not playing in.
