Nathan Trueb grew up surrounded by a family generations deep in gospel music, performance and musical study. With his two older siblings ahead of him, Nathan followed in the family tradition and started taking piano lessons and singing in choirs at a very young age. At the age of twelve Nathan took an interest in the guitar as a new instrument. He accepted a scholarship for lessons from the owner of Robert Adrian Music and continued lessons into college. In his first year of playing guitar he joined his brother's band and they played shows locally and eventually toured and played into Nathan's college years. In 2001 Nathan accepted a scholarship to Mt. Hood community college to study jazz. He joined Dave Barduhn's jazz choir, Genesis, as the guitarist in their quartet. Also that year, Robert Adrian asked him to be the head guitar teacher of his music school and Nathan has been teaching ever since for over 16 years.

In 2008 Nathan set out to start his own group, Tango Alpha Tango, writing all of the music, singing lead vocal and playing guitar. Tango Alpha Tango has released two full-length albums, two EPs and two live albums. As a regular touring act, they have played everywhere from Canada to SXSW in Austin, TX, and regularly sell out venues in the NW like the Doug Fir and Mississippi Studios. Tango Alpha Tango has had music in international commercials and have performed on the world-renowned KEXP Seattle where the video of their performance has garnered hundreds of thousands of views.

Nathan teaches a variety of lessons including guitar, bass, ukulele, songwriting, voice, jazz, blues and everything in between. With a mix of improvisation and theory, lessons are always exciting and geared toward each student individually, leaving them with a solid base of knowledge and a yearning for more.
