Devin began playing guitar shortly after starting his first band at the age of twelve. He has performed in dozens of ensembles, singing and playing guitar, ukulele, bass, drums and assorted percussion.

Since 2005, he has recorded and performed across North America with a band called Typhoon. Typhoon has performed at Newport Folk Fest, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, SXSW, Vancouver Folk Fest, Calgary Folk Fest, Outside Lands, Sasquatch, Pickathon, PDX Pop Now and Music Fest NW (eight years in a row). With Typhoon, Devin has shared the stage with The Decemberists, The Shins, Yann Tiersen and Built to Spill. In 2011, Typhoon performed on the Late Show with David Letterman. NPR has lauded Typhoon's "wonderfully intricate arrangements" and "soul-stirring beauty on a grand scale".

Devin also writes songs. His solo project, Ghosties, has been described as "very gripping confessional folk-pop" (XLR8R Magazine).

In addition to teaching ukulele and guitar at Vesper, Devin is an elementary school educator who loves sharing the joy of music with others.
